Education

In the past, many schools and universities have been built without good acoustics or lighting in mind. Multiple studies have proven that reduced reverberation times and appropriate sound absorption enhance teaching and learning, while also improving student behaviour. Good lighting design also helps students focus and concentrate better in class by creating a comfortable and clear visual environment. Natural light and well-placed artificial lights reduce eye strain and keep students alert. Proper lighting makes sure that all parts of the classroom are bright enough, so students can easily see their professor, materials and peers, helping them stay engaged and understand lessons better.

With an array of education lighting and acoustic solutions, NGA can assist in creating the perfect environment in which students can thrive.

    University

PET felt solutions were supplied to this university library to help reduce noise reverberation while increasing sound absorption. With baffles installed to the ceiling and felt also applied to the bookcases, the acoustics of the space were dramatically improved.

    Brasenose College

Part of the prestigious Oxford University, Brasenose College has one of the oldest boat clubs in the world. NGA were commissioned by lighting design firm LAPD to manufacture, supply and install this 8.5m x 2.5m ‘boat’ light feature to the lecture theatre X1 ceiling.

"With the lecture theatre also being used as an entertainment space, this stunning fitting was designed in conjunction with LAPD and BGS Architects to have a number of RGBW scenes as well as white. As such, the feel of the space can be completely changed by the lighting."
